My Zip Code is a helpful tool for people who just moved to a new area and need to know what zip code they live in.
It is also useful for people who are planning to relocate to another state or city.
They can then look up the exact zip code by entering the address where they are planning to move.
There are other use cases for my zip code tool other than moving and relocating.
It can be a tool that you use to meet up with someone or explore an area on your road trip.
How does my zip code tool work?
My zip code tool is built using Apple Maps with MapKit JS and their server API.
For Apple Maps to get your zip code information or use your current address to retrieve zip code information, you need to have Geolocation enabled on your web or mobile browser.
What does the Geolocation do?
Geolocation allows location technologies such as GPS to identify the location of the connected computer or mobile phone.
End users can choose to accept or deny a website or an app to have access to the Geolocation of their device.
To use my zip code tool, users will need to enable the Geolocation and permit us to identify your location information.
How to enable Geolocation?
Upon arriving at the website, your internet browser will display a message such as the following
"Allow myzipcode.net to access your location?" on the Firefox browser, all you have to do is select the blue "Allow" button and our tool will find your zip code immediately.
Each browser has its own variation of the ask for permission message. On the Chrome browser, the message is as follows
"myzipcode.net wants to Know your location". Again, you will select the Allow button to permit us.
Is my location data safe?
Your location data, such as your address, zip code, city, state, and location are private and will be gone once you leave our site.
We don't save your data for your privacy. The zip code information is retrieved on the client side, and we never pass it to the server.
Does my zip code work on a computer?
Yes, each browser of your computer has Geolocation built in. As long as you enable the Geolocation feature on your computer, our tool will be able to find your zip code or look up any zip code by an address you enter.
Does my zip code work on my mobile phone?
Yes, our tool works perfectly fine on any mobile device. Whether you have an iPhone or an Android phone and have the location tool enabled, my zip code will lookup your location and find your current zip code.
Does my zip code work on a tablet?
Yes, a tablet is just like a mobile phone that uses the same technology as a mobile phone. Our zip code lookup can find your zip code on a tablet.
